But in general terms have a look at the page about our trees  - the varieties there were bred to withstand the cold Cambridgeshire winds - tough skins and good keeping qualities. Also you might want to bear in mind that apple trees here are usually grown on a dwarf rootstock, so that the trees are kept low. This makes them easy to pick and ensures they don&#039;t suffer from &#039;wind rock&#039; which weakens the roots in the young tree.]]></description>
